Our Mission, Vision and Values

images-heart-shape

We believe in living out our Christian faith as effectively as possible, having an impact on those who have not yet heard or experienced the great news about Jesus Christ.

We believe we should share the good news about Jesus, equip people in their faith journey and see them live out their faith in the world.

OUR MISSION

Shining for Jesus in the darkness.

OUR VISION

  • Shine for Jesus and live lives glorifying to Him
  • Share Jesus with the next generation and remove obstacles that prevent them coming to Him
  • Shape our community with love, showing compassion to the least, the last and the lost

OUR VALUES

  • Father worshipping (Mark 12:30, John 4:23)
    • We will worship and love God our Father with all of our lives
  • Jesus following (Matthew 16:24)
    • We will follow Jesus and help others do the same
  • Spirit seeking (Ephesians 5:18)
    • We will seek to be continually Spirit-filled, serving in His strength
  • Bible honouring (2 Timothy 3:16)
    • We will seek to live out the truth of the bible and remain faithful to it
  • Grace living (Romans 6:14)
    • We will share God’s grace in the measure we have received it
  • Gift using (1 Peter 4:10)
    • We will use the gifts that God has given us to serve and glorify Him
  • World changing (Matthew 6:10)
    • We will seek to see our world changed to establish justice, healing and wholeness for all

Planning your Visit

A Warm Hello

The following information is specifically for those planning a visit, so that you know, beforehand, what to expect on a Sunday morning.

When and Where

We meet at the Church Building (details here) for our Sunday Service starting at 10:30am. For your first visit, we recommend arriving 20-25 minutes early to get a parking spot in the public car park that is behind the church, to the rear of the main bus stop. Sorry, we are a town centre church and there is no parking available on the site. When you arrive, you should be greeted by someone on our Welcome Team who will be wearing a Welcome lanyard.

Accessibility:

There is wheelchair access, and a sound loop for anyone who needs it. Please let one of the Welcome Team know on your arrival and they will help you to get set up. There are disabled toilets at the rear of the church and also in the Front Room café.

Our Service

The main service begins at 10:30am with a warm welcome from one of our team members. Then follows a time of sung worship, we share news and notices, usually about what’s going on in the life of the church, one of our leaders will give a sermon that is bible based and that we can apply to our everyday life. We often finish with the children and youth joining us and sharing what they have been getting up to. There is always an opportunity to receive prayer at the end of the service. We serve tea, coffee and biscuits after the service ends. It is a great way to meet people, or simply take time to find your bearings. All refreshments are free.

What about children and youth?

We have a great programme lined up for children and youth, called ShineShine is a central part of our Children, Youth and Families Team activity. It's a great way for families to start Sundays! All children and young people are welcome, and parents and carers can stay as well (in fact you are encouraged to!) A Welcome Team member will be very happy to direct you to the leaders relevant to the age(s) in question.
