Shine - Children and Families

shine 800 2-1

Shine is a central part of our Children and Families Ministry Team. It's a great way for families to start Sundays! All children and young people are welcome, and parents and carers can stay as well (in fact you are encouraged to!)

The main groups are:

  • Tots: Pre-5 years old
  • Sparklers: 5-7 years old
  • Juniors: 8 years onward

Here at Shine you can:

  • Meet up with friends
  • Have a free tasty brunch
  • Chat, chill or do crafts
It all starts with a light brunch at 10.30am in the Church hall, before moving into groups for activities and exploring faith. This is the same time as the main church service takes place. Before the end of the main service all the people at Shine are invited in to share what they have been up to, and join in with prayers and singing. Shine is very much a part of our entire Sunday worship.

Mix in or miss out!

Planning your Visit

A Warm Hello

The following information is specifically for those planning a visit, so that you know, beforehand, what to expect on a Sunday morning.

church

When and Where

We meet at the Church Building (details here) for our Sunday Service starting at 10:30am. For your first visit, we recommend arriving a bit early to get a parking spot in the public car park that is behind the church, to the rear of the main bus stop. Sadly we are a town centre church and without onsite parking. When you arrive, you will be greeted by our Welcome Team.

Accessibility:

There is wheelchair access, and a sound loop for anyone who needs it. Please let one of the Welcome Team know on your arrival and they will help you to get set up. There are disabled toilets at the rear of the church and also in the Front Room café.

Our Service

The main service begins at 10.30am with a warm welcome from one of our team members and a relaxed and informal style and usually lasts about 75 minutes. In the service there is sung worship, prayers, sharing of testimonies and stories together and bible-based teaching to encourage us to apply our faith to our everyday life. We usually finish with the children and youth joining us and sharing what they have been doing that morning. There is always an opportunity to receive prayer at the end of the service or ask questions. We serve drinks and biscuits after the service ends. It is a great way to meet people, or simply take time to find your bearings. All refreshments are free.

And if you are not yet a believer, or have questions about the Christian faith, then you will be welcome too as we feel everyone is on a journey which is best travelled together.
