This will be held at BARTON BAPTIST Church in Torquay.
Friday afternoons 1.30-3.30pm, starting on Friday 13th September.

The Bereavement Journey is a 7-session series of films and discussion to assist anyone who has been bereaved, to process emotions and the impact of a death, whether recent or long ago. The Bereavement Journey is suitable for everyone. In a supportive and compassionate environment we will cover topics such as:

Attachment separation and loss
The pain and responses of grief
Anger and guilt
Delayed and suppressed grief
Coping with others’ reactions
Adjusting to change
Moving forward healthily in a 'new normal'

Brixham is looking to go.

Places must be booked in advance so please contact Colin as soon as possible if you would like to attend. We will be looking to arrange transport across to Barton Baptist according to how many people are looking to attend, and what transport might already exist within that group.

Following this short course Brixham Baptist will be looking to create a local 'Bereavement Fellowship Group' which will be one of our Life Groups aimed at continuing support and encouragement for bereaved members of the congregation and any like-situation friends they wish to bring along. Planning your Visit

A Warm Hello

The following information is specifically for those planning a visit, so that you know, beforehand, what to expect on a Sunday morning.

When and Where

We meet at the Church Building (details here) for our Sunday Service starting at 10:30am. For your first visit, we recommend arriving a bit early to get a parking spot in the public car park that is behind the church, to the rear of the main bus stop. Sadly we are a town centre church and without onsite parking. When you arrive, you will be greeted by our Welcome Team.

Accessibility:

There is wheelchair access, and a sound loop for anyone who needs it. Please let one of the Welcome Team know on your arrival and they will help you to get set up. There are disabled toilets at the rear of the church and also in the Front Room café.

Our Service

The main service begins at 10.30am with a warm welcome from one of our team members and a relaxed and informal style and usually lasts about 75 minutes. In the service there is sung worship, prayers, sharing of testimonies and stories together and bible-based teaching to encourage us to apply our faith to our everyday life. We usually finish with the children and youth joining us and sharing what they have been doing that morning. There is always an opportunity to receive prayer at the end of the service or ask questions. We serve drinks and biscuits after the service ends. It is a great way to meet people, or simply take time to find your bearings. All refreshments are free.

And if you are not yet a believer, or have questions about the Christian faith, then you will be welcome too as we feel everyone is on a journey which is best travelled together.

What about children and youth?

We have a great programme lined up for children and youth, called Shine! Shine is a central part of our Children, Youth and Families Team activity. It's a great way for families to start Sundays! All children and young people are welcome, and parents and carers can stay as well (in fact you are encouraged to!) A Welcome Team member will be very happy to direct you to the leaders relevant to the age(s) in question.
